Found this book hard to get into. Writing was dry and not very interesting. Would not recommend it even.for cycling enthusiasts.
Oh my goodness...if you can appreciate the days of early cycling, this book is all charm. You'll find yourself laughing aloud and transcribing passages for your bicycling friends.
This was one of those books I found hard to put down. Would he get the girl? And win her affections? Of course you must read and find out.
Excellent, a true classic
The Echo Library edition seems to have been scanned, but not proofread or even spell-checked. The book is still enjoyable despite the errors, although the substitution of the letter "I" for all the open-single-quotes was confusing before I'd figured it out, and annoying afterward. I was disappointed that the illustration of the page from Mr. Hoopdriver's notebook was left out. Given the chance to do it over, I'd spend a little more and get a copy from another publisher.
Free and I like Wells.
I enjoy Wells' writing style, and this is a short enough story that, even though it's a little boring in some parts, makes for an entertaining read. I loved the humor of the main characters' bumbling actions.
